Plastic, made to order. Use it with cookie dough, fondant, polymer clay or play dough.

Wash in warm, soapy water before first use and after each use, then towel dry. Keep it out of the dishwasher; very hot water can warp the cutter. Use separate cutters for polymer clay and for food.

I also ordered the lungs in the smallest size along with the anatomical heart. This cutter has been better in terms of success. However, the tiny nature of the blood vessels at the top is really tricky with some of the doughs I attempted. Additionally, the grooves that dilineate the heart structures are quite deep, so a sturdier doigh was more successful. I would say this would be 5 star in a larger size.
